AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Several e-commerce platforms and brands are giving massive discounts and offers. Flipkart is offering two movie tickets upon placing orders, free of cost, to its customers. The winners can enjoy a movie date with their partner this Valentine’s.

To get the free movie tickets, the customers will need to purchase beauty products or chocolates worth Rs 800 or above. A report by 91Mobiles reveals that the available tickets are for all shows from Monday to Thursday and morning shows from Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

To be eligible to avail of this offer, the customer should be at least 18 years or above and should have an account on Flipkart to their name. The offer page is now live. You will have to make the purchase before February 14, 11.59 pm, to get this offer. Notably, the coupon will be valid till April 30.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can avail of this offer now.

  1. Go to the event page and make a purchase worth Rs 800 or above.
  2. A delivery voucher will be then sent to you by email or text
  3. You will need to scratch the coupon and go to the website
  4. Enter the required information including phone number, email address and more
  5. Now enter the code you received via the voucher and click on “Submit”
  6. You will then receive an OTP via email or text within 24 hours
  7. Now, you can choose two different movies, theater, date and time of the show
  8. You will receive the movie tickets 24 hours before the start of the show

Notably, the show date must fall within 48 hours of the requested date.

Flipkart is also hosting a Mobile Bonanza sale for smartphones, mobile accessories and more. It is now live and will come to an end on February 15.
