AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Tecno launches Pop 7 Pro budget smartphone in India: Check price, specs, availability

Tecno today launched a new budget smartphone in India. The newly launched smartphone dubbed as the Pop 7 Pro is the successor to the Tecno Pop 6 Pro that was launched in India in September last year and it comes with features such as a MediaTek chipset, dynamic RAM, 256GB of storage and a dual-rear camera setup. In India, the Tecno Pop 7 Pro will compete with the likes of the Realme C33, Poco M2, Moto E13 and the Redmi A1 among others.

Tecno Pop 7 Pro: Price and availability

The newly launched Tecno Pop 7 Pro comes in Endless Black and Uyuni Blue colour variants and it will be available in India in two RAM variants. While the base variant with up to 4GB of RAM will be available at a price of Rs 6,799, the top variant with up to 6GB of RAM will be available at a price of Rs 7,299. The smartphone will go on sale in the country on February 22 via Amazon India.

Tecno Pop 7 Pro: Specifications and features

Coming to the specifications, the Tecno Pop 7 Pro features a square unibody upgraded design with engine-inspired dual ring rear camera design. It comes with a 6.56-inch HD+ Dot Notch IPS display with a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels, 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, an aspect ratio of 20:9, 480 nits of peak brightness, 120Hz of touch sampling rate, IPX2 dust and water-resistant coating.

It is powered by the quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 chipset that is coupled with up to 3GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. It comes in two variants — one with 2GB of RAM and 2GB of additional MemFusion RAM, and the other with 3GB of RAM and 3GB of additional MemFusion RAM. It runs Android 12-based HiOS 11 and it is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with a 10W adapter in the box.

Coming to the camera, the Tecno Pop 9 Pro smartphone sports a 12MP dual AI camera with dual flashlight at the back and a 5MP AI selfie camera. For connectivity, the phone has dual 4G SIM dual VoLTE support, 4G, Wi-Fi 2.4 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Additional features include IDA Engine 2.1, link booming, one-tap clean up, Kids Mode, Visha Player, and two side drop down among others.
