AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. OnePlus Pad to be sold via Flipkart in India

Earlier this month OnePlus launched the OnePlus 11 series in India consisting of the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R. Alongside the phones, Oppo’s sub-brand also announced the OnePlus Pad.

OnePlus Pad is the brand’s first tablet that has a powerful specs sheet. However, at the time of release, the tablet’s availability details were sealed. But now, more details of the tablet’s availability have been confirmed.

OnePlus Pad confirmed to be sold via Flipkart in India

Flipkart has confirmed that the OnePlus Pad will be available for purchase in April. It will open for pre-ordering in early April on the platform. Unfortunately, the pricing details are still unknown.

However, we should learn more as we move closer to its pre-ordering timeline. As for colors, the device will be available in the Halo Green shade.

OnePlus Pad specifications and features

The OnePlus Pad comes with a rather odd design on the back. The front and the internals, though are fully specced out.

The device has an 11.6-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 2800 x 2000 pixels resolution. It has 500 nits of peak brightness and Dolby Vision support. The tablet has a metal unibody design and a slim form factor. It measures 6.54mm in thickness.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

The device has a 13MP single camera on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. It packs a massive 9,510mAh battery with support for 67W SuperVOOC fast charging.

The device also features Battery Health Engine for battery safety, which is the same technology seen in the new OnePlus 11 5G.

The tablet runs on the latest Android 13 OS out of the box and has OxygenOS 13 on top. As for connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and a cellular 5G data-sharing feature. The tablet also has the auto-connect feature for OnePlus phones.
