AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. OnePlus Pad confirmed to feature a magnetic keyboard and stylus

OnePlus is set to launch a handful of products globally on February 7, including its first-ever tablet, OnePlus Pad. In the latest tweet, the company has revealed that it will launch its tablet with a magnetic keyboard and support for a stylus.

In the latest new video teaser, OnePlus has revealed the design of the upcoming tablet. It hints that OnePlus Pad will be available in a green colour option with OnePlus branding on the back. However, it is expected to be available in more colour variants. It will feature a single rear camera and an LED flash.

OnePlus Pad expected specifications, price

OnePlus’ first-even tablet is expected to come with an 11.6-inch display. As per the renders, it will come with a metal unibody design. The company has remained quite tight-lipped when it comes to the specifications of the OnePlus Pad. The volume keys are expected to be placed on the right edge of the tablet.

The tablet is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and offer up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of pricing, the tablet is likely to be priced at CNY 2,999 in China (approx Rs 34,500).

For the unversed, OnePlus is also launching OnePlus 11 5G at the event that is expected to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 50MP triple-camera setup and a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that offers a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Additionally, the company has confirmed that it will be available for pre-order on Amazon on February 7.

Another smartphone that is confirmed to debut on the same day is OnePlus 11R 5G. It is expected to come with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, a 50MP triple rear camera setup and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging.
