AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. Infinix Zero 5G series in collaboration with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania launched in India

Infinix Zero 5G series has debuted in India at a starting price of Rs 17,999. The smartphone series includes Infinix Zero 2023 and Infinix Zero 5G Turbo. The two phones come with the same specifications except for the chipset and storage. The smartphone series is launched in collaboration with Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. 

Infinix Zero 5G series pricing, availability

Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo is priced at Rs 19,999 and offers 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Infinix Zero 5G 2023 comes with 8GB RAM+ 128GB and is priced at Rs 17,999. In terms of colours, both the handsets come in Submarine Black, Coral Orange with vegan leather back, and Pearly White colour variants.

Both the smartphones will be available for purchase in India on Flipkart on February 11 at 12 pm.

Infinix Zero 5G 2023 series specifications

The Zero 5G 2023 series comes with a 6.78-inch LTPS display with a Full-HD+ resolution. The smartphones feature a center-punch-hole panel with a 100 percent sRGB color gamut. Both displays will have a 120Hz refresh rate with support for auto-switch.

The Zero 5G 2023 Turbo is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset, whereas, the Zero 5G 2023 comes with Dimensity 920 chipset. Both will have 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 base storage.

There will be a triple camera system on the phones with a 50MP main lens and two auxiliary sensors. On the front, Infinix will likely offer a 16MP selfie snapper. Both handsets come with the same camera details.

Under the roof, the series is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The battery is expected to fully charge in about an hour. As for the OS, Infinix will provide Android 12 with XOS 12 on top.

The Zero 5G 2023 comes in Marvel-themed special box packaging. As mentioned earlier, the smartphones have a vegan leather back and are available in multiple colors including Orange.
