AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. Amazon announces Fab Phones Fest: Check top deals and offers here

Amazon today announced the Fab Phones Fest on its platform in India. The company today announced that its Fab Phones Fest will begin on February 11 and go on until February 14. During the course of this sale, Amazon India is offering up to 40 percent off on smartphones from companies such as OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi, realme, iQOO, Oppo and Tecno among others.

In addition to this, Amazon India is also offering a 10 percent instant discount of up to Rs 1,000 on payments made via the SBI Max credit cards and EMI transactions and up to Rs 1,250 instant discount on payments made via the Federal bank credit card and EMI transactions.

Apart from this, Amazon India also revealed that it will be offering a discount of up to 50 percent on smartwatches, tablets, wearables, earbuds, camera from companies such as Boat, JBL, Apple, Amazfit, Xiaomi, and Realme among others. Interested buyers can also get an instant discount of 10 percent of up to Rs 1,250 on payments made via Federal bank credit cards.

— Amazon India is offering the Redmi 10 Power, Redmi 10A and Redmi A1 at a starting price of Rs 10,749, Rs 7,862 and Rs 6,499 respectively. Buyers can avail more discounts with bank offers from Federal Bank.

— Amazon India has announced special offers on the Samsung Galaxy M-series smartphones. It is offering Galaxy M13, Galaxy M33 and Galxy M04 at a price of Rs 8,699, Rs 13,999 and Rs 7,499 respectively. The company is also offering bank discount along with no-cost-EMI for three and six months.

— Additionally, interested buyers can buy the iQOO Z6 5G, the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G and the iQOO Neo 6 5G at a price of Rs 14,499, Rs 11,999 and Rs 24,990 respectively with bank offers from SBI and Federal Bank.

— During the ongoing sale, the Realme 50i Prime and the Realame 50A Prime are available for Rs 6,299 and Rs 8,999 respectively with a no-cost-EMI option of up to three months. Additionally, it is offering the Realme 50 5G at a price of Rs 12,999 with a no-cost-EMI of up to three months.

— Amazon is offering the Amazfit GTS2 Mini Smart Watch at a 50 percent discount. During the sale it is available for Rs 4,999.

— Similarly, the JBL Wave 200 True Wireless earbuds are available for Rs 2,499.

— Also, the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wired in-ear earphones are available for Rs 6,900.
