AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. AMD said it will open its new design centre campus in Bengaluru by end of this year and create 3,000 new engineering roles within five years. “Our India teams will continue to play a pivotal role in delivering the high-performance and adaptive solutions that support AMD customers worldwide,” Papermaster said. Coca-Cola Phone teased by Realme, it may not be rebranded Realme 10 4G

After a few days of leaks, Realme has confirmed it would soon launch the Coca-Cola Phone in India. Realme India chief executive Madhav Sheth posted an image on Twitter to tease the launch of the phone, but in doing so, he also refuted the rumour that said the Coca-Cola Phone could be a rebranded Realme 10 4G. Instead, it will likely be a Realme 10 Pro speculated to be known as the Realme 10 Pro Coca-Cola Edition.

Sheth posted a photo of the Realme 10 Pro on Twitter and a reflection of a Coca-Cola can on the very shimmery rear panel. So, in essence, the image is a confirmation that the Coca-Cola Phone will be a special edition of the Realme 10 Pro, not the Realme 10 4G that previous rumours said. The latest photo from Sheth shows him and his team members giggling with Coke cans kept around them. That is a reaffirmation that the Coca-Cola Phone is coming. But whether or not it will be called that or if the phone will be called the Realme 10 Pro Coca-Cola Edition.

The upcoming phone from Realme seems like a version of the Realme 10 Pro with bright red colour on the back panel and Coca-Cola’s insignia. But the specifications may just be the same as the regular Realme 10 Pro. That means you can expect the Realme 10 Pro Coca-Cola Edition to come with a 6.72-inch FullHD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. It may feature a dual camera system with a 108-megapixel main lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel camera for taking selfies. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The device boots on Realme UI 4.0 and has Android 13 out of the box.

The Realme 10 Pro 5G was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 18,999, so the Coca-Cola Edition may also cost the same.
