AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Acer launches Aspire 3 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7000 SoC in India: Check price, specs, features

Acer today added another laptop to its Aspire series of devices. The company today launched the Acer Aspire 3 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor in India. The company also sells Aspire 3 laptop with Intel processor. The newly launched Acer Aspire 3 comes with the Ryzen 5 7000 series processor, a full HD display and it runs the Windows 11 operating system.

“The Aspire 3 2023 edition has attractive design with a stylish metal cover that keeps it sophisticated without sacrificing performance thanks to the latest AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor. Our deep partnership with AMD ensured we co-created one of the best everyday performance laptop in the market” Sudhir Goel, Chief Business Officer, Acer India, said on the occasion.

Acer Aspire 3 price and availability

As far as pricing and availability are concerned, the newly launched Acer Aspire 3 comes a starting price of Rs 47,990 and it will be available at Acer Exclusive Stores, Acer E-store, Vijay Sales, Amazon and Acer stores across the country starting today.

Acer Aspire 3 specifications and features

Coming to design, the Acer Aspire 3 weighs 1.6kgs and it measures 18.9mm. It comes with a metal cover in silver colour. Talking about the display, the Acer Aspire 3 comes with a 15.6-inch Full-HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel and support for Acer’s ComfyView and BlueLightShield technologies.

The newly launched laptop is powered by the 6nm AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors with Zen 2 architecture with up to four cores and eight threads. This processor is coupled with Radeon graphics graphics, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of SSD storage space. As mentioned before, this laptop runs 64-bit Windows 11 Home operating system. Acer says that the Aspire 3 laptop provides enhanced thermal system and additional 17 percent thermal capacity thanks to the improved 78 percent increase in fan surface area.

For connectivity, the Acer Aspire 3 has a full-function USB Type-C port on board along with Wi-Fi-6E and HDMI 2.1. In addition to this, the laptio has the company’s PurifiedVoice technology with AI noise reduction functionality that can actively suppress background noise for both users and is compatible with external headphones and mics.
