AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. Vivo Y72 5G price, specifications leaked ahead of July 15 launch

Vivo will be launching its latest Y-series smartphone with 5G connectivity, dubbed the Vivo Y72 5G in India on July 15. Ahead of the launch, a new report from 91Mobiles has revealed the expected price, bank offers, official poster image and specifications. From the leaked specifications, it seems like the Vivo Y72 5G will be a rebranded version of the Y52 T1 model, which was launched in China earlier this year. This if true, would mean that the device will be comparatively a lot different from the Vivo Y72 5G that was launched in Thailand.

Vivo Y72 5G: Expected Price

Vivo Y72 5G according to the report will be priced around Rs 22,990 for the sole 8GB RAM variant. The company will also be offering multiple bank offers including flat Rs 1,500 cashback via HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak. Apart from this, the device will also come with a complimentary one-time screen replacement and Jio benefits worth Rs 10,000.

Vivo Y72 5G: Leaked specifications

Vivo Y72 5G will sport a 6.58-inch Full HD+ Halo FullView display with a resolution of 2408×1080 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM along with 4GB of additional virtual RAM and 128GB storage expandable via a microSD card. The device will run Google‘s Android 11 operating system with the company’s own Funtouch OS 11 skin on top. All of this will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Coming to the cameras, the device will feature a dual-camera setup on the back consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The camera will be paired with multiple software features including Pose Master, Face Beauty and Super Night Mode. On the front, the device will sport an 8-megapixel sensor for taking selfies.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a USB Type-C port.
