AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Oppo Reno 6, Reno 6 Pro price in India (expected)

While the core specs of the new Oppo Reno 6 lineup are already known, we are waiting for the handset maker to announce the official price at today’s launch event. To recall, Oppo Reno 6 was launched in China at a starting price of CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 31,800). While the high-end model, Oppo Reno 6 Pro was priced at CNY 3,499 (approx Rs 39,800). Whether Oppo puts the new models within a similar price range in India remains to be seen.

Speaking of the core features, the Oppo Reno 6 sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage It runs Android 11 OS with custom ColorOS 11 skin on top. The Reno 6 carries a 64-megapixel triple camera layout and a 32-megapixel shooter embedded on the punch-hole cutout upfront. It is backed by a 4,300mAh battery and comes with 65W fast charging support. The phone has an in-display fingerprint reader for biometrics authentication.

As for the Oppo Reno 6 Pro, it features a slightly big 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood sits a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC which is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. Software, camera configurations are the same as those on the standard variant. However, the Reno 6 Pro packs a slightly big battery at 4,500mAh. It comes with a 65W fast charging solution. Both the models have support for 5G connectivity.
