US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. OnePlus Nord 2 confirmed to get two years Android update, will it be OxygenOS-ColorOS mix?

OnePlus Nord 2 will be showcased on July 22, and ahead of its formal debut, OnePlus is teasing key elements to create a buzz around the device. While the new Nord phone is confirmed to feature a 90Hz AMOLED display, OnePlus in its recent teaser post cited the device to get two years of Android update.

OnePlus Nord 2 confirmed to get two major Android updates

OnePlus Nord 2 will arrive with OxygenOS 11 and is confirmed to receive two major Android updates, which means those who buy the new Nord phone will get software upgrades till Android 13.

“Take a deep breath and chill, worrywarts. OnePlus Nord 2 comes pre-installed with OxygenOS 11 backed up by 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates,” OnePlus tweeted via its official Twitter India handle.

Although the Chinese handset maker stated the upcoming Nord to ship with OxygenOS, XDA Developer in its recent report suggested that the new OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be the first to offer the blend of OxygenOS-ColorOS hybrid. Notably, OnePlus last month announced its plan to integrate OxygenOS with Oppo’s ColorOS operating system. However, the company did mention that users won’t notice any changes even if both Android-based OS will share the same code base. While it’s still early to predict, perhaps we might see minor tweaks in themes and customisation in later OxygenOS builds.

The phone will ship with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chip. The Nord 2 5G is expected to offer at least 12GB of RAM, 256GB native storage.
