AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. Ola Electric has opened bookings for its upcoming electric scooter in India. Interested buyers can simply reserve an Ola scooter by paying a refundable deposit of Rs 499. Commenting on opening reservation Ola chairman and group chief executive officer Bhavish Aggarwal said in the statement, “India’s EV revolution begins today as we open reservations for our electric scooter, the first in our range of upcoming EVs. The company further said that the upcoming Ola scooter is “largest-in-class boot space, superior range and many first-in-class features.” Ola also said that the scooter will be priced aggressively in India to make it widely accessible for everyone who needs it. The official website mentions that the upcoming “Ola scooter will be competitively priced, and the final pricing will be announced soon.”

How to book Ola electric scooter

-To reserve an Ola scooter you will first need to head of the official website of Ola Electric.

-Next login with your mobile number using an OTP validation.

-To book the Ola scooter you will need to make a payment of Rs 499 using net banking, credit or debit cards, UPI, e-wallets or OlaMoney. One buyer can reserve multiple scooters following the same process.

-In case you change your mind last minute, the order can be cancelled or modified anytime. The reservation amount is completely refundable.

– No documents are needed to reserve the Ola scooter.

-The website will allow you to choose the colour and variant of the Ola scooter later.

– Once the reservation is successfully processed, Ola will send the order ID and other details via SMS or email to the registered phone number and email ID.
