AMD to invest $400 million in India by 2028: Here’s what we know

US chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices said on Friday it will invest around $400 million in India over the next five years and will build its largest design center in the tech hub of Bengaluru. AMD’s announcement was made by its Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster at an annual semiconductor conference that started Friday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat. Other speakers at the flagship event include Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra. Despite being a late entrant, the Modi government has been courting investments into India’s nascent chip sector to establish its credentials as a chipmaking hub. Garena Free Fire beats PUBG Mobile to become top-grossing mobile game on Google Play Store in June

Good news for Garena Free Fire fans out there. According to the latest report coming from Sensor Tower, Garena Free Fire has outperformed PUBG Mobile to become the world’s highest-grossing mobile game app on the Google Play Store. This is for the month of June 2021.

PUBG Mobile fans will be upset to know that the mobile game has taken the seventh spot in terms of revenue on Google Play Store in June. The good news is, on Apple App store, PUBG Mobile maintains the second spot in the specified month. The list of top-grossing mobile game in June is the Honor of Kings. Tencent owned game Honor of Kings has got in a revenue of $277 billion, which shows a growth of 21 per cent year-over-year.

PUBG Mobile drops in the list

On Google Play store, Garena Free Fire outshined PUBG Mobile, which is a big milestone for game. As per the report, PUBG Mobile, which is currently banned in India made $213.8 million in gross revenue and that makes it the second most-earning app by Tencent.

According to the report, around 53.3 percent revenue came from China, where the game is available as Game for Peace. The second biggest contributor to PUBG Mobile’s revenue is the United States. Well, it could have been India but unfortunately that will not happen anymore. PUBG Mobile has been relaunched in the country ina  new avatar and is now called Battlegrounds Mobile India.
